On November 16th 2011, we had the great opportunity to join Hinori Yano from Caux Round Table-Japan; Dr. Silviu Razvan Jora from the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation; Dr.Koji Fukuda from the EU Institute in Japan at Waseda University and Hidetaka Shimada from sanofi-aventis K.K. to learn on EU's Corporate Social Responsibility strategy through Europe2020 and Enterprise2020 initiatives.
It was also the first time for CRT-Japan to share this sort of event through social media where most relevant remarks on the speakers were posted and commented with a broader audience in real time, enriching the scope of the seminar.
The main objective of the seminar was to encourage the participants to "utilize public policy as a tool on the development of their CSR competitive strategy". The seminar was cohosted by EUIJ Waseda and Caux Round Table-Japan.
Coincidentally a new EU CSR Strategy was launched on October 25th and Dr. Silviu Razvan Jora commented: This Strategy has a new clearer definition of CSR "the responsibility of enterprises for their impacts on society". In order to fulfill their Corporate Social Responsibility, enterprises should have in place a process to integrate social, environmental, ethical, human rights and consumer concerns into their business operations and core strategy in close collaboration with stakeholders.
We hope that the transcription of the content shared through social media can help you to get to the source of the information and enrich your vision of what we learned together on November 16th.
